Mustard Moutain Moving Company (MMMC) is a rock trio from Northeast Ohio. A rock band is a musical group typically consisting of members who play instruments like electric guitars, bass guitar, drums, and sometimes keyboards, while one or more members may also provide vocals. The genre of rock music, from which rock bands take their name, is broad and can range from the energetic and rebellious sounds of punk rock to the dramatic and complex compositions of progressive rock.

Northeast Ohio is a region in the northeastern part of the state of Ohio, in the United States. It includes major cities like Cleveland, Akron, Canton, and Youngstown. The area is known for its cultural diversity, industrial history, and natural beauty, with attractions like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It’s bordered by Lake Erie to the north and stretches into the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.

An electric guitar is a type of musical instrument that uses electronic pickups to convert the vibration of its steel strings into electrical signals. These signals are sent to an amplifier, which produces sound through a speaker. Electric guitars are incredibly versatile, allowing musicians to create a wide range of tones and effects, from clean and mellow sounds to powerful, distorted ones.

A bass guitar is a stringed instrument similar in appearance to an electric guitar but designed to produce lower-pitched notes. It typically has four strings (though five- and six-string basses are also common) and a longer neck and scale length compared to a standard guitar. The bass guitar plays a foundational role in music, often working closely with the drums to create the rhythm and groove of a song.

Drums are percussion instruments that produce sound when struck, typically with drumsticks, mallets, or hands. They’re one of the oldest musical instruments in human history and are found in nearly every culture worldwide. A drum consists of a hollow shell covered with a stretched material (often synthetic or animal skin) called a drumhead, which vibrates to create sound.

The members of Mustard Mountain Moving Company write songs. An original band is a musical group that primarily performs their own compositions rather than playing cover versions of songs by other artists. These bands create unique music, showcasing their creativity and individuality. They often write their own lyrics, compose melodies, and develop arrangements that reflect their style and identity.

They also play other people’s songs too. A cover song is a new performance or recording of a song originally written and performed by another artist or band. When musicians “cover” a song, they often put their own spin on it, whether by changing the arrangement, style, or instrumentation, while still honoring the essence of the original.

Is MMMC really a moving company? No. A moving company is a business that helps people or businesses relocate their belongings from one place to another. They typically provide services like packing, loading, transporting, unloading, and unpacking items. Some moving companies also offer storage solutions or additional services, such as furniture assembly or specialized handling for delicate items like pianos or artwork.
